Purim is coming soon!

Be happy…it’s Adar!...and as the days grow longer--and hopefully brighter--we look ahead to the joyful reading of Megillat Esther (the Book of Esther) on Wednesday evening, March 16, and to the day-long celebration of Purim on Thursday, March 17!   Get ready to plan your costumes, tune up your groggers (noisemakers), and prepare for a fun and festive time in the life of our congregation and its Sisterhood.

While we are not yet able to be back in the TBE kitchen baking thousands of hamentaschen and preparing to assemble mishloach manot (Purim treats) for the entire congregation, we have decided on an encore of last year’s plan, and we hope that it will provide some Purim cheer for all!

For Purim 5782, each local TBE household will receive a specially baked and wrapped box of four assorted hamentaschen, straight from Rochester’s kosher bakery. These large, traditionally tasty cookies (3” x 3”) should arrive at your door before Purim, sealed with a (virtual) hamentaschen hug from your Temple Beth-El Sisterhood!

To help make this special and joyful project a reality, please consider:

  • Ordering extra boxes of hamentaschen for yourself, friends or family for only $12 each.
  • Donating to help fund this and other Sisterhood programs throughout the year (which includes support for the Rabbi Felix Aber Religious School at Temple Beth-El).
  • Helping to underwrite the cost of delivering hamentaschen to all local TBE members for a contribution of only $200 (our current version of the traditional $300 “Send to All”).

Please join Sisterhood in bringing a taste of Purim to our Temple Beth-El family!
