One of the three major festivals in Judaism, Shavuot (Feast of Weeks, concluding counting the Omer) has many additional names, including Z’man Matan Torateinu (Time of Giving of our Torah), Hag HaBikkurim (Holiday of First Fruits), and Hag HaKatzir (Harvest Festival). Customs include eating dairy products (especially cheese!), decorating the synagogue with branches and flowers, and studying Torah. Studying traditionally may continue through the night and is known as Tikkun Leil Shavuot.
